Retreat for veterans and spouses

By Brianna Rodriguez

Veterans experience more than just going overseas. Extensive time away from family can cause unexpected hardships on their relationships.

The Warrior to Soulmate Retreat was created for veterans and their spouses to strengthen their relationships.

The retreat, created by the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System Veterans, was to help veterans maintain healthy relationships. It will take place April 13-15. Additional retreats will take place throughout the summer. The retreats are free for veterans and include room and board.

Veterans who are interested must contact their VA Mental Health Provider or Patient Aligned Care Team social worker for a referral. The referral is used to determine if this event is well suited for the couple, and both partners must participate in the screening process.

For more information contact: Marco Watson, LCSW at marco.watson3@va.gov or 727-432-3130.
