You have probably attended many fun events on campus, but you probably didn’t know that you could be receiving Pete Points at the same time.
Just bring your student ID and swipe.
Pete Points were designed to create “an intentional experience” on campus, outside a classroom. The points are offered at events that fall within several categories: cultural, social, wellness, career, leadership, recreational, service and academic. These categories make up Pete’s Cube. Look for Pete’s logo on flyers and invitations for activities that offer points.
The Leadership Office decides how many points to allot to each event, but they generally range from 100 to 500 points.
But why are these points significant? They can be used at Pete’s Auction at the end of the semester.
“Swipe for swag,” said Melanie Bullock, assistant director for activities and programs.
At Pete’s Auction, each student is given a ballot card to bid on various prizes. At the last auction, there were a variety of prizes, including USF St. Petersburg “swag,” a Nutribullet, Usher concert tickets and a weekend getaway. This semester, the Leadership Office is looking to expand on the event, adding more prizes and activities. The auction will take place at 6 p.m. on April 23 in the University Student Center ballroom.
Students can also earn bonus Pete Points by participating in other campus activities, such as having the Career Center perform a resume check or filling out surveys.
