This year’s fall tv line has it all. To help you navigate through the piles of new shows hitting the small screen later this month, The Crow’s Nest has put together a list of shows to watch and shows that will probably get canceled before the season finale.

“The Good Place”

After being hit by a truck, a woman (Kristen Bell) finds that she has died and gone to the good place. However, it’s a mistake. Now she must prove to everyone that she deserves to be in the good place instead of being sent to the bad place to be tortured.

“This is US”

Life’s a journey that comes with a lot of unexpected roadblocks. In “This Is Us”, you get a glimpse into the lives of several individuals just trying to make it. The show covers a wide range of topics including self-esteem, death of a child and being reunited with a loss parent just to name a few.  And what do these seemingly different individual have in common… their birthday.

I definitely recommend having a box of tissues or two with you when you watch this show. Just from watching the preview alone, I shed a tear. I can only imagine what is in store for the hour-long series premiere.

Premiere Date: September 20 on NBC

“Notorious”

If Scandal and Law and Order had a baby, it would be Notorious.

She is a cable news producer. He is a criminal defense lawyer. Together they orchestrate some of the best breaking news segments in the business, while still making time for steamy hookups. Based on a true story.

“The Exorcist”

Ever since Angela’s daughter Katherine returned from college she has been acting very strange. Angela believes theses strange behaviors is linked to a demonic spirit, so she turns to the Catholic Church for help. Based on the Academy Award-nominated film, The Exorcist.

Based on the previews, I wouldn’t want to watch this show with the lights out.

Premiere Date: September 23 on FOX

Don’t Bother

“American Housewife”

In a town full of modern day Stepford wives with their picture perfect families and their yoga toned bodies, Katie Otto sticks out like a sore thumb. While on the outside she appears confident on the inside she is battle the idea of staying true to herself or conforming to fit in with the other mothers.

I love comedies, but the idea of a show making light-heart of serious issues like self-esteem and body image has me on the fence. Not to mention that the original title was “The Second Fattest Housewife In Westport”.

Premiere Date: October 11 on ABC

“Man with a Plan”

After being a stay at home mom for over 13 years, Andi (Liza Snyder) returns to the workforce leaving her contractor husband Adam (Matt LeBlanc) to take care of their three children.

What an original plot?.

Not going to lie it sounds like a modern day version of  Home Improvement, but it has similar qualities of Home Improvement.

Premiere Date: October  24 on CBS

“The Great Indoors”

After spending years traveling the great outdoors, Jack (Joel McHale) must leave his on location jobs to manage the digital department of the magazine. But he struggles trying to get and keep the attention of the millennials on staff.

Over sensitive plus technologically savvy equals millennials?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but your target audience is apart of the millennial generation. Stereotyping us isn’t going to get you ratings.
