Around 500 people filled the State Theatre on Central Avenue to celebrate the 5th Annual Good ‘Burger Awards on Thursday.
The award ceremony honored area businesses, organizations or individuals in greater St. Petersburg making a positive impact in the community
This year, the event featured food tastings from six local eateries, with restaurants like Fresh Kitchen and Better Byrd catering.
The event also included a pop-up shop, which sold things like shirts and hats, all made by local artists.
The Morean Arts Center created beautiful and intricate glass awards for each of the Good ‘Burger Award (GBA) winners.
DJ Fresh emceed and, along with the help of several community partners, revealed the award nominees and winners.
There were nine categories, ranging from “Eats & Treats” to “Hot Spots & Hangouts,” all of which had several nominees.
The Oyster Bar, 3 Daughters Brewing, The St. Petersburg Music Factory, Goodwill Suncoast, and Great Explorations Children’s Museum all won awards.
Other category winners were Pet Pal Animal Shelter, Ferg’s Sports Bar and Grill and Tampa Bay Watch.
Deputy Mayor Kr. Kanika Tomalin took home the “Most Valuable ‘Burger’” category.
