In a video statement Tuesday, USF System President Judy Genshaft addressed the university’s preparedness for Hurricane Irma.
She praised faculty, staff and students who went to great lengths before, during and after the storm to ensure the safety and welfare of all those who sheltered on campus.
There was no mention of former regional chancellor Sophia Wisniewska, who was forced to resign yesterday after her handling of evacuations of residence halls in the days before the storm.
In 90 percent of the shots, Genshaft is seen interacting with the USF campus community, shaking hands and giving heartfelt hugs.
There was also little mention of St. Petersburg or Manatee-Sarasota campuses.
