A custodial supervisor at the USF St. Petersburg has tested positive for COVID-19, as confirmed by Carrie O’Brion, spokeswoman of the university.
“As far as we know, there was the custodial supervisor and that was the only (recent) case,” O’Brion said.
She had reached out to USF St. Petersburg Safety and Compliance Officer Guy Van Asten to confirm the case.
“He is self-quarantining according to CDC guidelines,” she said.
Guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest that persons in self-isolation with COVID-19 should isolate for 10 to 14 days, depending on his or her symptoms.
The custodial supervisor is the most recent of nine confirmed cases of COVID-19 on all three USF campuses. This case was confirmed on June 4.
The previous case, confirmed on May 4, was a custodial employee at USF Tampa.
