A new event platform is coming to USF on July 1, according to Director of Student Life and Engagement Dwayne Isaacs.
PeteSync and BullSync will be replaced by a new platform, which operates similarly but displays events from the Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee campuses.
The switch is led by the Student Engagement Platform Committee — which is comprised of Isaacs, USF Tampa Director of the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement Mike Severy, USF Tampa Director of New Student Connections and Parent and Family Programs Keri Riegler and USF Sarasota-Manatee Director of Student Engagement Kimberly Mones.
The new platform will be done by CampusGroups, a university engagement platform that is used at other institutions like Yale University and Northwestern University.
The new platform will be available to students online and via a mobile app, and will also offer “check-ins” at events using QR codes.
Other improvements include a type and tag system where students can filter what types of events they would like to attend.
Isaacs said the committee is “pretty excited” to make the switch to the platform.
Costs for the new platform were divided between the three campuses, with each campus paying roughly the same amount that was spent on previous platforms, according to Isaacs.
