With a variety of foods, arts, crafts and music, the Saturday Morning Market returned to downtown St. Petersburg on Oct. 2.
Celebrating its 19-year anniversary, the market has offered joy and connectedness to the community since its beginnings.
Focusing on supporting local vendors, the market hosts over 140 booths every Saturday with a mix of produce, merchants, worldly cuisine, clothes and different types of arts and crafts.
Market business staples like Little Pond Farm, Mr. I Got Em’ and Mitch Armstrong Nursery have participated in the market for several years. Besides recurring vendors, market organizers also leave room for part-time merchants to ensure diversity and quality each week.
The Saturday Morning Market promotes healthy eating and positive environmental practices by offering organic and sustainably raised foods.
It also highlights diverse cultures by including goods from merchants based out of Mexico, Colombia, Ethiopia, Thailand and more.
As a non-profit organization, the market is supported by partners and sponsors like Fresh Access Bucks, Florida Organic Growers, Healthy St. Pete, Allegany Franciscan Ministries and the Tampa Bay Times.
The Saturday Morning Market is a classic St. Petersburg way to spend the beginning of the weekend with friends and family. The market will run through May 2022 at the corner of First St. and First Ave. S.
