Rapper T-Pain had students “getting low” during the 2021 USF Homecoming concert with his return to Tampa on Nov. 4
Organized by the Center of Student Involvement, the event was the first concert back on campus since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rapper Taylor Bennett gave the event’s opening performance. Commonly known for his work alongside his brother, Chance the Rapper, Bennet hyped the crowd with some of his songs like “Broad Shoulders” and “Dancing in the Rain.”
Excitement grew as the time for T-Pain to hit the stage approached.
USF Tampa communication sciences and disorders junior Alexia Allison shared in the excitement for her first time seeing the rapper live.
“I’m feeling good. I’m really excited to see T-Pain,” Allison said.
USF Tampa language, speech and hearing science junior Carson Daly said he was looking forward for T-Pain’s “I’m Sprung.”
As an homage to the peak of his career in the early 2000s, T-Pain sang some of his most popular songs like “Up Down,” “Bartender” and “Buy U a Drank.”
The rapper also covered “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen and “Stay With Me” by Sam Smith.
At the end of the concert, T-Pain thanked the USF community for having him again and promised to be back.
