As the sound of “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC blares through Amalie Arena, followed by the iconic Tesla coil, fans roar with excitement knowing that hockey season is back.

The Tampa Bay Lightning began their 31st season back on Oct.10, and fans are more than ready to head back to Amalie Arena, and both college and high school students can get in on the action while also saving some dollars.

For the 2023-24 season, the Lightning have brought back their very popular “Student Rush” special ticketing program, presented by the University of South Florida, that all current high school and college students can take advantage of during the regular season.

With a valid “.edu” email address, students can visit nhl.cm/lightning/tickets/student-rush to register for the student rush program. Students with a valid student ID may also visit the Amalie Arena box office the day of a home game to receive their ticket as well.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. the morning of a home game, with the costs for high school and college students at $20, but for USF students, tickets are only $18. Register now because not only will tickets sell out fast, but securing a spot will be limited, due to the “standing room only” sections being reserved for this ticketing program.

Students can start taking advantage of “Student Rush” this week, as the Lightning have a series of home games, starting tonight, Oct. 30 as they’re playing the Seattle Kraken, or you can attend games in November, as they play the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, Nov. 9 and the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, Nov. 11.
