USF St. Petersburg is hosting its first student-focused townhall, organized by student government, at 3 p.m. on April 3 on the first floor of the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library to give students a chance to voice their questions and concerns.
There will be administration representatives present, including the regional chancellor, Christian Hardigree and others. Administration will talk directly to students and address their concerns regarding topics like financial aid, academics, diversity, dining, parking and more.
Earlier this semester, there was a campus townhall that was focused on informing faculty and staff of upcoming changes, such as construction news and parking changes.
During this townhall, there were conversations between administration and students that attended about on-going issues, like registering for classes.
These discussions, attended by chancellor Hardigree and USF St. Petersburg student government lieutenant governor Taylor Herman, prompted them to mention the idea of having a student townhall later on in the semester.
Students who attend this event will have a chance to win a USF St. Petersburg themed towel, mug, candle and umbrella. Snack and drinks will also be provided.
