The Tampa Bay Lightning fell to their in-state rival, the Florida Panthers 5-2 in a matchup at the International Arena on Dec. 15.

Sam Reinhart and Anton Lundell opened the scoring for the Panthers in the first period, followed by another Reinhart goal and a tally from Brad Marchand in the second. Lightning rookie Max Crozier responded late in the second, scoring his first NHL goal.

J.J. Moser’s goal early in the third period proved to be too little too late for the Bolts in the most recent installment of the battle of Florida. Former Bolt turned Panthers sniper Carter Verhaege sealed the Lightning’s fate midway through the third period.

The Lightning are now 2-3 in their last five games against the Panthers.
