Merry and bright: Where you can find holiday lights

By Martha Rhine

Watching Christmas movies, shopping for gifts, and making cookies are all traditional holiday pastimes, as is looking for Christmas lights. Plenty of neighborhoods in the area put up impressive displays, but you can see a big show of holiday lights at the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo. The festive display is on every year, and for a $5 fee, eh, donation, you can walk through the many gardens, taking in the colorful twinkle of thousands of lights. It’s all very Florida, with neon flamingos and dolphins nestled among the garden flowers. The display is on until the end of December and visitors can also enjoy live music and kitschy entertainment as well as snacks on sale. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Check it out.
