In a 26-4-1 vote, Julia Cunningham and Jillian Wilson were elected and inaugurated as Student Government president and vice president.

SG’s Senate voted on Tuesday night in a vote of last resort.

This comes after Jaida Abbas and Jennifer Kelly won the spring general election, but were disqualified by SG’s Supreme Court on April 9 due to a major grievance violation. The ticket appealed the decision to USF Tampa’s Dean of Students, but it was not decided by the SG deadline.

The Cunningham/Wilson ticket was found guilty of three minor grievances.

26 senators voted in favor of Cunningham and Wilson, one voted in favor of Abbas and Kelly and four abstained from voting.

“Thank you all for believing in Julia and I,” Wilson said. “We promise we won’t let you down.”

Cunningham and Wilson officially begin their term May 10.
