USF police investigating death at Tampa campus

University police are investigating after they were notified that a person had fallen from an upper level of a parking garage.

The University Police Department at the University of South Florida Tampa is investigating an on-campus death that occurred sometime Friday morning.   

According to UPD, the police department was notified that a person had fallen from an upper level of the eight-floored Richard A. Beard Parking Facility.

Investigators are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding this death. 

In a university-wide alert, University Communications & Marketing wrote “the health, safety and well-being of our university community is of the highest importance.”

They also shared resources for anyone who may be impacted.

“The USF Counseling Center provides essential mental health services to students either in person or online. In addition, professional counselors are available through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) by visiting Magellan Health Care Resources.”
