The University of South Florida Bulls secured another win at home after defeating the Temple Owls at Raymond James Stadium during USF’s “Salute to Service” game. With a tough fight, the Bulls came through, beating the Owls 27-23.

With this win, the Bulls are only one win away from a bowl game appearance, which will be the first time since the 2018 Gasparilla Bowl here in Tampa.

“I continue to be really proud of the foundation that we’re laying here,” head coach Alex Golesh said in his post-game interview. “We’re going to continue to build on what we’ve got.”

Golesh describes the team’s process as “complementary football,” highlighting wide receiver Sean Atkins, who set the new record for most receptions in a single season, with a total of 69 and counting.

“It was definitely a special day for me. Breaking that record was awesome. It’s a testament to who I am,” Atkins said in his post-game interview. “It gives all those young guys that are looking up to me the confidence to do exactly what I just did.”

During the third quarter, defensive end Tramel Logan caught the second interception of the game from Temple quarterback E.J. Warner and took it to the endzone, bringing the score to 27-10. Logan’s pick six was the first one for USF since the 2021 season.

Logan explained in a post-game interview how he had a good “read” on the field of the players. “Once I got it, I just did my job,” Logan said.

Within the same quarter, cornerback Aamaris Brown caught the third interception of the game (second of the day for Brown), but the Bulls eventually punted the ball away.

“We pride ourselves in the game on getting three turnovers in every single game we do. It was definitely a big step forward getting most of the takeaways today,” Brown said in his post-game interview.

By the fourth quarter, the Owls scored two touchdowns to increase their score, but ultimately couldn’t gain a lead, leaving the Bulls with the win and a final score of 27-23.

The Bulls are left with two games this season, taking on the UTSA Roadrunners in San Antonio, TX this Friday, Nov. 17, before finishing off their season back at home where they’ll take on the Charlotte 49ers at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 25.
