How to celebrate Valentine’s Day on the USFSP Campus

Love is in the air at USF St. Petersburg, as the campus has the holiday covered with Valentine’s Day themed events happening throughout the entire week leading up to the 14th.  

All students are invited to embrace the spirit of love and connection.  

Whether it’s a romantic sunset cruise on the water, a night of matchmaking in a dating game show, or an evening filled with painting pottery, the campus is abuzz with activities designed to celebrate all forms of love. 

Her Choice: A Valentine’s Day Dating Game Show 

Friday, Feb. 9, 5 to 7 p.m. in the University Student Center (USC) Reef 

The USFSP Her Campus Chapter is hosting a night of fun, with their second annual, Valentine’s Day Dating Game Show.  

Each contestant will answer questions presented by the host, and at the end of each round, they’ll choose someone to go on a “second date” with. Valentine’s Day themed treats will be provided!  

Hot Chocolate Bar  

Monday, Feb. 12, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Nelson Pointer Memorial Library 

With unusually cold temperatures in the Tampa Bay area, the library is offering a bar of free hot chocolate for all students. The bar will include the drink itself, along with a variety of toppings.! 

Prep and Paint for Valentine’s with PPGA 

Monday, Feb. 12, 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Harborside Lawn (by the water) 

The Planned Parenthood Generation Action chapter at USFSP is hosting an evening of pottery painting and a picnic for lovebirds, friends, and those flying solo. They’re also giving away free food and safe sex kits.  

Valentine’s Day Bingo with HAB 

Monday, Feb. 12, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the USC Reef 

The Harborside Activities Board is throwing an evening of fun with a game of bingo. Attendees will have the chance to win Valentine’s Day themed prizes throughout the event, at the end of every round.  

Bouquet Bar 

Tuesday, Feb. 13, noon to 4 p.m. in the courtyard behind RHO 

USFSP Housing’s Hall Council is celebrating the day of love with creating a floral arrangement. Students get the opportunity to customize their own flower bouquets for themselves or to give to their valentine. 

Sex and Chocolate 

Tuesday., Feb. 13, 4 to 5 p.m. in the USC Cove 

The Black Student Association is bringing back their popular interactive presentation, for this Valentine’s Day. The presentation discusses sexual health and protection, specifically in the Black community. There will be free fruit, snacks, chocolate, and sexual health supplies for all attendees.  

Fall in Love with SLE 

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 9 a.m. to noon in The Source (SLC 1800) 

USFSP Student Life and Engagement is getting students into their “creative era” with this event. Stop by the source to decorate a glass tumbler coffee cup with USFSP themed stickers. Free for all students. 

Valentine’s and Voter Registration with SG 

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the USC 

Student Government will be tabling outside the USC, discussing the importance of registering to vote, themed to the day of love.  

Valentine’s Candy-Grams 

Wednesday, Feb. 14, noon to 2 p.m. in the Nest 

The Nest is hosting a special Valentine’s Day event at lunch time. It’s free to those who have a meal plan. 

Love on the Lawn  

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1 to 4 p.m. at the USC Lawn 

This annual Valentine’s Day event, is a collaboration between USFSP HEAT, the OMA, the Wellness Center, Pride Alliance, and the Dean of Students Ambassadors.  

Love on the Lawn is a heartwarming celebration of love, whether you’re celebrating romantic love, self-love, or friendship, everyone is welcome. Students can enjoy an afternoon filled with wellness activities, empowering conversations, and connecting with each other. 

Sunset Cruise 

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 5:30 PM 

Campus Recreation is hosting sunset cruises throughout the semester, beginning this Valentine’s Day. It’s free for all students, but space for each cruise is limited, so those who want to attend have to register, through the USFSP Campus Recreation website, before all spots are taken.  

Spot the Red Flag with CCE 

Thursday, Feb. 15, 4 to 5 p.m. in the USC Cove 

The Caribbean Cultural Exchange is changing up they’re typical general body meeting with a Valentine’s Day twist. It will host a presentation on the dating culture in the Caribbean, diving into its influence on music, cultural slang and what courtship entails.
