The Florida State Legislature concluded its work on the spending budget for the 2026/2027 fiscal year. The newest budget proposal includes $22 million for the University of South Florida to continue operating its Sarasota-Manatee campus during the transition, as well as a $57.7 million funding package for university operations, facilities and special initiatives. USF anticipates it will be approved and sent to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis; who will make his decision by the end of the 2026 fiscal year on June 30.
