There was a chill in the air at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus last week — literally and figuratively.
During Hallo-week, the campus’s spooky activities paired well with the cooling weather: From the annual Halloween Fest, where The Crow’s Nest celebrated its 56th birthday, to costume contests and dance celebrations.
To close out spooky season, here’s a glimpse of USF St. Petersburg’s Halloween festivities.
Halloween Fest
Community members of all ages came together at USF St. Petersburg’s fourth annual Halloween Fest. Campus clubs and local organizations had booths where they handed out candy and advertised their services.
In between interacting with local organizations, collecting candy and visiting the haunted library, children got to compete in a costume competition and pets were shown off in a costume parade.

Monster Mash
USF St. Petersburg’s student government hosted a costume contest on Oct. 30 from 7-9 p.m. at The Edge. Students got to show off their single or paired costumes while enjoying a free popcorn bar and spell vials.

RHA Costume Contest
The Resident Hall Association (RHA) hosted a costume competition on Oct. 29 on the Judy Genshaft Student Life Center lawn. Several students who live on and off campus attended and competed for the bragging rights of best costume. Many others spectated and voted for the costume they thought beat out the other competitors.
