“Science in the sun” proved to be the perfect slogan for the St. Petersburg Science Festival, held on the USF St. Petersburg campus on Feb. 6 and 7.
Tori Usrey, a graphic arts and design student at USF St. Petersburg, for their internship under professor Tina Piracci.
“Honestly, I love talking to the kids; it’s so much fun. I also love how curious kids are about science,” Usrey said. “It’s magic to them. They have that sparkle in their eyes when learning about science outside of the classroom.”
Dani Soluna, who recently served as the Judy Genshaft Honors College advisor, was representing the Butterfly Garden to raise awareness for pollinators with craft butterflies and caterpillars.
“I just think it’s really awesome how USF St. Pete does things for the community and erases that invisible line between our campus and the city,” Soluna said. “This is one of those events that does that.”
