Uncertified results for the University of South Florida Student Government’s general election were released on March 10 for roles in legislative and executive leadership positions.

Voting took place between March 2-5 for gubernatorial and presidential roles as well as senate and campus council seats. The results were released less than a week later.

Also tallied alongside candidate votes was the vote to keep the Student Green Energy Fee, which won 3,197–611 between all campuses, with 822 abstaining from the decision.

Results will be certified after the SG Election Rules Commission addresses any grievances, or complaints against a ticket or candidate and reviews further appointments.

Out of five candidate duos for student body president and vice president, Hunter Rabinowitz and Mia Riley led the race with 2,613 votes, 1,494 votes ahead of Caio Esmeraldi and Maria Martins. Tyler Williams and Haran Mahesh made third place with 399 votes.

USF Tampa

With 2,308 votes, Ava Unutoa and Brooks Cornelison won USF Tampa’s gubernatorial race over James Meyer and Julia Jacomini, the only other candidate pair to run.

Out of 66 candidates for senate, 31 made the list. As for the 29-candidate race for campus council, 12 candidates unofficially won.

USF Sarasota-Manatee

Andre Aquino and Delaney Gutierrez were the only pair listed for the campus’ gubernatorial positions and made the list. They received 72 votes.

Meanwhile, all eight candidates for Sarasota-Manatee’s campus council won; Hope Eaton led with 59 votes. And of the two recorded candidates for Sarasota-Manatee senate, Ruby Suarez won, though Jaiden Barrett led with 61 votes, just four votes ahead of her. Barrett instead made campus council, which was her first choice.

USF St. Petersburg

Out of four candidates for a campus council seat, only Daniel Albertson made the cut, securing a win for his first choice versus the senate position he didn’t make. Meanwhile, five candidates won the race for senate, including Williams.

There are currently no gubernatorial candidates listed for USF St. Petersburg, as the ticket for governor and lieutenant governor was noticeably absent from the ballots.

Elise Prophete, USF St. Petersburg’s incumbent governor, told The Crow’s Nest the missing ticket was due to technical application errors, but special elections for the roles, as well as eight St. Petersburg campus council seats, will be open from March 23 to April 3.
