This year’s variety of Peeps rivals any other year, with everything from Party Cake to Hot Tamale.

It’s Easter 2022 and there have never been more flavors for Peeps.

The marshmallow candy brand sports a strikingly wide variety, some of which are exclusive to certain stores. Flavors added this year are marked with an asterisk.

Traditional

Your everyday marshmallow Peep is pretty good, but nothing special. You can find them in bunny, decorated egg or the classic bird varieties.

Chocolate Pudding

Chocolate and marshmallows have always been a match made in heaven. The Chocolate Pudding Peeps are a solid and balanced option.

Sparkly Wild Berry

Wild berry was a bit of a surprise to find, but these bunny-shaped Peeps are actually a decent option, balancing out the sweet marshmallow with a pleasant fruitiness.

Donut Shop Caramel Mocha

Peeps didn’t need to add that caramel filling and chocolate-dipped bottom, but they did. If you’ve ever wanted to bite into a S’mores Frappuccino while breathing in the atmosphere of a Dunkin’ Donuts, bite into this Peep.

Cotton Candy

Okay, I like cotton candy, but these Peeps overdo it. It doesn’t quite make it worse, but it just feels too potent and sugary to be any more enjoyable.

These Peeps can only be found at Walmart.

Party Cake

This is the only Peep I could not finish out of my own self-love. Where cotton candy is potent, party cake just hurts. Marshmallow Peeps were not the right medium to inject birthday cake into. Unless you’re really into noticeably artificial cake flavoring, I do not recommend these Peeps.

Fruit Loops

I’m not even going to try to comprehend how this tastes so vividly accurate to a spoonful of Fruit Loops, but like the mixed berry, the fruitiness works well. This one gets bonus points for the fun experience of eating it off a stick like a corn dog.

Chocolate Strawberry

Chocolate and marshmallow may be heavenly on their own, but adding strawberry to it completes a holy trinity of taste. This is also one of the chocolate-dipped varieties of Peeps, which just gives that extra level of enjoyment to what could’ve easily been another blob of flavor.

These Peeps can only be found at Target.

Hot Tamales Fierce Cinnamon

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting these to be as good as they were. Their bright red exterior and implicitly spicy packaging are deceptive, for a relatively mild cinnamon flavor infused into the marshmallow. If you’re expecting a genuine kick of spiciness, though, you might be let down by these Peeps.

Tropical Burst

Do you like piña coladas? Getting caught in the rain? These Peeps emulate it all (including the rain). Fruity enough to stand out without going overboard, Tropical Burst is a refreshing contrast to its numerous sugary peers. It’s a close call, but these are probably the best Peeps on the menu this Easter season.

These Peeps can only be found at Target.
